NGO’s were created to go into countries in a state of upheaval and bring basic necessities for human survival such as the administering of medicine or the distribution of food. So what is the purpose of an organization run by clowns going into countries in crisis and putting on shows for kids? Is this a “fools errand” or a legitimate form of humanitarian aid?  “Send in the clowns” is a documentary feature that explores the unorthodox approach of clowning as an effective method in improving the mental health of communities and cultures in crisis. Perfect Life Pictures is currently developing a feature-length documentary about Clowns Without Borders.  Directed by Sam Lee, the film will follow several clowns before, during and after their travels to areas in need.
After following us on one project to Haiti in August 2009, the film production is now well underway!
