101 ways to support CWB!!!
- Find 100 people who will each pledge to donate $1,000.
- Get 1,000 people to each donate $100.
- Find 100,000 people to donate $1.
- Write personal letters to folks you know and tell them about CWB.
- Do an email campaign sending out requests to all those in your contacts.
- Connect with other organizations and ask to use their email lists to send out requests.
- Write a letter to the editor to tell about CWB.
- Host a winter party and have a covercharge.
- Ask you friend who lives in a beautiful home to host the party.
- Find a restaurant that will host a fancy meal fundraiser with you.
- Do a car wash.
- Make bets with people (bets you know you can win) and WIN them.
- Go to your highschool or college homecoming and ask for funds from alumni friends.
- Ask people you know to give a monthly ($5 or more) donation to CWB.
- Speak at a local school or business about the importance of laughter.
- Give a presentation to a local civic organization.
- Teach juggling, acro, yoga or theatre and send proceeds to CWB.
- Convince someone else to fundraise for you.
- Run a marathon and raise pledges for CWB.
- Sell CWB paraphernalia (let us know, and we will get you some).
- Write an op-ed about a place in the world in conflict and explain why CWB should go and what it would cost to do it.
- Write a letter to a celebrity asking for support.
- Print CWB photos and sell them.
- Host a silent auction.
- Host a loud auction.
- Host an online auction.
- Get a local food seller to donate a percentage of proceeds to CWB.
- Get a local craft maker to donate a percentage of proceeds to CWB.
- Make a list of phone numbers and call people you know asking for donations.
- Tell a personal experience about CWB to someone you know.
- Make clown action-trading cars and sell them at farmers’ markets.
- Create an informational booth for CWB and present it at local fairs.
- Write a grant.
- Make friends with Bill Gates and then write a grant.
- Meet folks who research laughter and have them write a grant.
- Every time you fly on a plane, meet at least one person and tell them about CWB, remind them we function on individual donations.
- Throw a dance party, get sponsorship from a local brewery.
- Have a St. Patrick’s Day Party and have people pay $20 to get their heads shaved.
- Mail out a letter with a return addressed stamped envelope, asking people for a one-time donation to a really great organization.
- Have a bake sale.

- Have a beer pong tournament with all proceeds going to CWB.
- Have a juggle-off to see who can do the most and for the longest, entry fees go to CWB.
- Get sponsorship to run a race ($1 per mile, or maybe $10 per mile…why not $100 per mile?)

- Pass a hat at the end of your next show and talk about CWB.
- Walk across the country and take pledges for CWB.

- Make a list of people you used to date and write to them saying “Aren’t you glad we are still not dating? If you are, donate to CWB to show HOW much you are glad you are no longer together with me.”
- Paint “I Love CWB” on the side of your car, on the other side paint, “Give us a donation.”
- Start a singing telegram program that donates a percentage of proceeds to CWB.
- Seek out other people who LOVE fundraising and ask them to help you fundraise for CWB.
- Stop cringing when people say the word “fundraising.”
- Ask someone to sponsor a child that CWB works with, by sponsoring the child, they would give a monthly donation to CWB.
- Speak at a local church, synagogue or mosque.
- Start a pen pal program with a local school. Get a community org. to sponsor the program.
- Do street performances and give some of the hat to CWB.

- Collect cell phones and/or print cartridges in return for cash.

- Become friends with President Obama and ask him for some support.
- Get on a local TV station asking for support.
- Support other NGO’s and share the love…karma works wonders!
- Develop an ‘elevator speech.’ In it you should be able to describe CWB and why someone should donate in the same amount of time it takes an elevator to go up 5 stories.
- Design a CWB poster and post it.
- Design CWB post cards and post them!
- Ask a friend in a rock band to have a benefit concert.
- Be bold.
- Estimate how many laughs happen in a CWB show then ask potential donors to sponsor $1 per laugh.
- Make CWB Valentine cards and sell them.
- Crochet clown noses that you can sell for CWB.
- Donate your tax return to CWB and ask others to do the same.
- Speak at a local country club or “high end” civic organization.
- Visit wealthy schools that have wealthy students and wealthy parents, develop relationships with such organizations.
- Get college fraternities or sororities to do fundraising activities for CWB. A clown formal perhaps.
- Ask people on Facebook and Twitter to donate for a person who has made them smile.
- Put change containers out at local stores and coffee shops.
- Hang and sell CWB photos/prints at local coffee shops or art galleries.
- Find out what other successful non-profits are doing to raise funds and copy them.
- Create an NPR style radio show or Vaudeville Radio Hour, get on the air and ask for money.
- Don’t take “no” for “no.” Take a “no” to mean “be more creative and then I’ll donate.”
- EBay some personal clown or performance gear and give the proceeds to CWB.
- Contact someone you know who works for a major airline and find out how they can give us reduced fare or free flights.
- Ask an investor to donate a portion of their dividends to CWB.
- Host BINGO at the local VFW.
- Pour beer for an outdoor festival in return for all tips going to CWB.
- Make it personal, make it honest and ask ask ask, again.
- Arrange to be interviewed on a local NPR station, get the word out and let folks know we function off of personal donations.
- Ask your friend, who is a massage therapist to donate a portion of proceeds to CWB on certain days.
- BELIEVE that people want to support the organization and ask people with enthusiasm, honesty and integrity.
- Be a socialite for a night, host a cocktail party and give proceeds to CWB…do one each month!
- HAVE FUN, make it fun for yourself and the donors.
