25 ways to support CWB!!!

  1. Find 100 people who each pledge to donate $1,000, or 1,000 people to donate $100, or 100,000 to donate $1!
  2. Write personal letters or emails to folks you know. Tell them about CWB and ask if they’ll give a monthly donation of $5 or more. 
  3. Host a party with a cover charge…or ask your friend who lives in a beautiful home to host with you!
  4. Give a presentation to a local civic organization.
  5. Sell CWB merchandise (let us know, and we will get you some).
  6. Write an op-ed about a place in the world in conflict and explain why CWB should go and what it would cost to do it.
  7. Write a letter to a celebrity asking for support.
  8. Host a silent auction, a loud auction, or an online auction!
  9. Get a local food seller or craft maker to donate a percentage of proceeds to CWB.
  10. Create an informational booth for CWB and present it at local fairs or farmers’ markets.
  11. Write a grant. Or meet folks who research laughter and have them write a grant!
  12. Every time you fly on a plane, meet at least one person and tell them about CWB, remind them we function on individual donations.
  13. Have a bake sale, yard sale, car wash, beer pong tournament, juggle-off! Get creative! All proceeds go to CWB.
  14. Get sponsorship to run a race ($1 per mile, or maybe $10 per mile…why not $100 per mile?)
  15. Pass a hat at the end of your next show or street performance and talk about CWB.
  16. Speak at a local church, synagogue or mosque.
  17. Ask local theaters to donate tickets for shows and then auction off the tickets or sell them regularly.
  18. Collect recycling materials (cans for cash) and return them for cash.
  19. Support and learn from other NGO’s. Share the love…karma works wonders!
  20. Develop an ‘elevator speech.’ In it you should be able to describe CWB and why someone should donate in the same amount of time it takes an elevator to go up 5 stories.
  21. Ask a friend in a rock band to have a benefit concert.
  22. Put change containers out at local stores and coffee shops.
  23. Contact someone you know who works for a major airline and find out how they can give us reduced fare or free flights.
  24. Arrange to be interviewed on a local radio or TV station, get the word out and let folks know we function off of personal donations.
  25. BELIEVE that people want to support the organization and ask people with enthusiasm, honesty and integrity. Make it personal, make it honest and ask ask ask, again. HAVE FUN!
